General alarm operational

" I just received alarming news from Port de Paix:

The survivors of the earthquake and the inhabitants of Port au Prince are pouring in all the towns of Haiti, including these Port de Paix .

in Port de Paix, the mayor told residents to take stock of rice and coal in view of these arrivals.

The price of rice has quadrupled.

The food is getting scarce in the market and warehouses.

who had made money in cash hoarding food, while those who had in the bank is not able to pick up as banks, even if they have been damaged by the earthquake, are closed because they depend on those destroyed or closed in the capital.

Until very recently (1 or 2 years) customs decentralized cities like Port de Paix, Cap Haitien, Gonaives could receive food and goods by ships coming directly from Miami and to put the products (including all food Bnei ) to the northern city.

To combat smuggling, the Haitian government has required that all goods passes to Port au Prince, close direct contacts with other cities abroad.

Now that Port au Prince is paralyzed and can not send trucks that deliver goods and food in the rest of the country is expected within a few days a state of emergency throughout the country.

International aid intended (correctly) only to the capital.

In addition since there is no control looting in the city are likely not affected by the earthquake.

absolutely must do this very crucial issue to the Haitian authorities and international.

An immediate solution would be to reopen these customs so that international aid and commercial traffic can get across the country. "

What Is The Worst Wegie

earthquake Haiti Haiti

Dear,

Some good news.

Br Herman knew that in Port au Prince, is instead in Port de Paix, safe and sound.

The sisters Majorie and Linda, who instead wanted the case to Port au Prince for a conference in the days of the earthquake have survived and managed to return to Port de Paix.

I am attaching the mail that have allowed us to receive this good news.

Still no news Mardoché, Wilfrid, Manuel, Cristina, and countless other Haitian friends who always help us in our support activities and brothers who live in Port au Prince. We hope soon to receive some of their communication.

With regard to initiatives related to the emergency ANPIL HAITI, we are planning a series of short and medium term.

Currently you're already on a fund-raising (see awww.anpil.org site) that will be 'officially' with a statement in the middle of next week in conjunction with response activities that we intend to promote.
